Any beauty conscious woman will agree with me when I say that age should have no bearing on whether or when a woman uses high performance skin care. Personally, I have long felt the investment in high performance products when one is 20 or 30 (along with a healthy lifestyle) is key to preserving the skin. In most cases when a woman reaches her 40’s and 50’s you can tell whether she’s invested in her skin…or not (they say when you are in your 20’s you look like god made you but when you are in your 40’s you look like you made you).
Sadly, once you’ve reached your 40’s it’s nearly impossible to turn back the clock and much of the “damage” done over the years is irreversible. While some may consider Botox or a surgical face lift as the only option, skin care technology has made great strides over the years. As a result, those uncomfortable with invasive treatments now have a range of viable skin care options they can consider.
La Prairie, a name synonymous with high performance skin care, has recently launched one such product: Skin Caviar Liquid Lift. The promise of Skin Caviar Liquid Lift is that it is instantly gratifying – think “face lift” in a bottle – while protecting and nourishing the skin. The key ingredient is a glucose-based polymer derived from Xanthan Gum which tightens, smooths and tenses the skin.
When I used my sample of Skin Caviar Liquid Lift I could feel a subtle tightening of my skin. It was, without doubt, visibly firmer and more toned. By the way, this tightening can also make the skin feel a tad dry which is why La Prairie recommend you use the product under your usual moisturiser. I used a travel sized sample I had of La Prairie’s Cellular Time Release Moisturiser as well as Khiels Ultra Facial Cream and both worked a treat.
While the immediacy of results from Skin Caviar Liquid Lift are impressive the fact that this product also offers longer term age prevention properties is the real bonus. According to the folks at La Prairie, Skin Caviar Liquid Lift is also rich in amino acids containing proteins, vitamins and minerals which means while it is providing visible results at the front end, it is also delivering a potent cocktail of protecting and nourishing compounds to the skin.
Now I can’t say whether this product delivers over the long term (I’ve only really been using it a few weeks) and considering the price tag (in excess of $600) there is a fair amount of faith one places in the La Prairie brand that it will. Having said that, anyone looking to make a real investment in their skin care won’t be disappointed with the immediacy of the results and the fact that a very little bit of Skin Caviar Liquid Lift goes a very long way.
