We Divulge The Fashion Secrets Of Our Most Fashionable Royal…
She may be married to the second in line to the throne – but when it comes to being the Queen of style, Kate Middleton already has the crown!
With her flawless fashion choices – consisting of just the right dose of couture, lady-like lengths, and an-always-salon-fresh super shiny blow dry – Prince William’s missus can barely put a designer shoe wrong.
But, just how can one achieve her royal look? We find out below…
God Save McQueen
If there’s one British fella Kate adores almost as much as her Wills, it’s Alexander McQueen. If her choice of wedding dress didn’t prove this, then choosing THREE of the legendary late designer’s pieces for the four-day Diamond Jubilee celebrations this week surely did. In fact the Princess has stayed loyal to the high-end fashion God since her very first red carpet appearance, where she stepped out in one of his long-flowing lilac gowns for the 2011 BAFTAs in LA.
Twice As Nice
She may be able to afford to debut a different outfit daily, but the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t afraid to recycle her old favourites from time to time. Last month, the 30-year-old was spied in a $2,000 Emilia Wickstead pink dress TWICE in just 11 days. “I’ve worn it before,” she told People Magazine of her multi-functional attire, which worked perfectly for a luncheon at Windsor Castle AND later a tea party at Buckingham Palace. With a different hairstyle, shoes and accessories of course!
Mum’s The Word
She may have joined the most famous family in the world, but Kate still clearly believes her own mum knows best. When it comes to dressing at least. In March this year, the Duchess gave her first public speech as a royal at the official opening of London’s East Anglia Children’s Hospice, while decked out in her mother Carole’s very own electric blue Reiss number.
Less Is More
It’s not an easy task to become the people’s Princess, yet Kate’s occasional thrifty fashion choices have definitely helped her secure the female vote!
Just like many A-list style icons before her, she’s not afraid to mix some super expensive couture with a bit of High-Street, including Zara, Reiss and LK Bennett. And after all, being cheap just means she can by even more of it!
Comfort Is Class
Forget cleavage flashing tops, thigh-skimming minis or ridiculously high stilettos, Kate is all about the three C’s – comfort, class and covering up! And while she may prefer to stick to timeless, simple pieces, rather than emulate the latest catwalk trends, her well-fitted straight leg jeans and block coloured-structured dresses help her achieve the darling Duchess effect perfectly.
