What makes a launch fit to remember? If you ask those who attend quite a few events on a regular basis they will tell you that a great location, an open bar, tasty treats, a fun-loving crowd, gracious hosts and amazing product to lovingly ogle all come into consideration and at the Kai Aiyub for Magnolia Silver Jewellery launch earlier this week none of us were left disappointed as each of the aforementioned points exceeded expectation.
The new collection launch – a collaboration between über celebrity stylist Kai Aiyub and silver jewellery’s largest retailer Magnolia Silver Jewellery – was held at the Roosevelt in Potts Point in which upon entering the classy establishment, you were immediately transported directly into another era. Cozy booths and velvet lounges complimented the art deco feel of the hotel as did the display cabinet which cleverly housed vintage cocktail glassware and shakers. Dim lighting provided by tiny lamps added to the elegance of the place whilst handsome wait staff complimented the old world feel with their cheeky suspenders and superior service (incidentally an innate knowledge of exactly when to top up your glass of Chandon helps in winning points amongst this crowd).
Adding to the sophisticated allure of the evening, models fittingly held velvet lined trays filled with the collection’s pieces – which you were able to try on – as they walked the room explaining Kai’s inspiration behind the range whilst the stylish girls from Australia’s hottest online store The Iconic brought us back to the present technology wise with their trusty iPad at the ready also showcasing the collection.
The 12 piece range – inspired by Kai’s recent trip to Los Angeles and a fictional girl called Lola whose search for adventure, fame and love lands her in the City of Angels – perfectly reflects a relaxed Venice Beach lifestyle, shopping sprees along Melrose and dreams of being a Hollywood “It” girl was also ingeniously displayed atop a lit up catwalk of ice.
Guests – who included the Magnolia Silver Jewellery team, designer Jayson Brunsdon, Australia’s Next Top Model mentor Josh Flinn, Actress Susie Porter amongst a crowd of very well dressed models, photographers, stylists, publicists and other industry professionals – snacked on tasty canapés as well as yummy cupcakes and left with a gift bag filled with goodies.
Definitely an event to remember and fondly so.
