For the art curious amongst us, March in Sydney is set to thrill. This year, over 200 artists are exhibiting in over 100 galleries across Sydney as part of an annual celebration of diverse and vibrant visual art. Running from 1- 25th March, the Art Month program is packed full of talks, workshops, tours and bar spaces all waiting to be explored by art lovers young and old.
Calendar highlights? For night owls, check out ‘Art at Night’ on Thursday and Friday nights, with select inner city and eastern suburbs galleries opening their doors after-hours, where you can take a DIY tour before heading to the closest Art Bar. With FBI DJs and drinks served from 8pm until late, it’s sure to be an arty party.
More into deep discussions? Try the ‘Conversations’ series, which involves discussions with some of our most influential collectors like David Gonski and John Kaldor. Those wanting something more hands on will enjoy the ‘Wonderful Weekend Workshops’, a range of lessons and step by step guides across a variety of art practices taught by some of Australia’s leading artists. From life drawing to jewellery making, there might be a Picasso in you yet.
