Spring Cleaning Playlist

Although Sydney is a bit slow on the uptake today, Spring is officially here!  A season synonymous with frolicking and frivolity Spring is a time of renewal and rebirth which means one thing – Spring Cleaning.

A Spring clean isn’t just an ordinary tidy up it’s a total overhaul. It’s daunting, time consuming but when you make it out the other side possibly covered in house paint and a new found ability to change a vacuum bag before dust even has time to settle it’s completely refreshing.

Filing that first old superannuation letter or getting up on the stool to start cleaning the skirting boards is sometimes the hardest part. Once you gain some momentum though, you become a cleaning machine. We find that music is sometimes the best motivation in these situations so here is our list of top songs to Spring clean to, you’ll be up and dancing with the mop in no time.

1. Everything in its Right Place by Radiohead – Off the floor and into cupboards and drawers they go

2. Cleanin Out My Closet by Eminem – For wardrobe organisation purposes

3. This Charming Man by The Smiths – The lyrics “I would go out tonight but I haven’t got a stitch to wear” will help you get through that huge pile of laundry

4. Get What You Give by the New Radicals – Those dishes won’t wash themselves

5. Another One Bites The Dust by Queen – Press play when you’re cleaning dust prone places such as the tops of bookshelves and skirting boards

6. One Way Or Another by Blondie – The fallback song for when faced with a particularly unpleasant task

7. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk – For when your energy and enthusiasm begins to dwindle

8. Homecoming by Kanye West Featuring Chris Martin – Because once you’re finished you’ll be as excited about “coming home again” as Kanye and Chris are

9. Beat It by Michael Jackson – For when you’re throwing out (or putting in a charity bin) all those things you’ve been hoarding but not using

10. Diamonds & Pearls by Prince – That’s how clean and sparkly everything is going to be once we’re done!

11. Shiny & New by Mayer Hawthorne – That’s how your house will feel after the big Spring Clean

12. Everything’s Not Lost by Coldplay – So you’ve cleaned and re-arranged everything and the house looks fabulous. But now you can’t find anything Coldplay will help to remind you it’s there…somewhere.
