An afternoon spent at Vaucluse House feels like an afternoon spent inside a Jane Austen novel.
You’ll find picturesque gardens, a beautiful historic house and tearooms that serve the kind of Devonshire tea that makes you want to start calling everyone in earshot “dahhling”. Amid such a picture-perfect setting, it’s no wonder the tearooms are a popular wedding spot.
Though the Devonshire tea is particularly noteworthy the tearooms also serve less dainty options such as a wagyu burger, eggplant schnitzel and roast chicken for those who want more than a light snack.
Once afternoon tea is complete enjoy a leisurely walk around the immaculate grounds, which include an authentic colonial kitchen garden, complete with seasonal vegetables. You can even explore Vaucluse House itself by joining a tour of the impressive Gothic Revival villa.
This historic place with its gardens and tearooms has all you need for the perfect lazy afternoon. The only thing missing is Mr Darcy.
