This Thursday fashion design students will be emerging from their various design schools across Sydney and entering the real world of fashion as part of the Chrysalis Charity Fashion Event. Hosted by the Sydney Fashion Students Forum (SFSF) the event will provide students with an opportunity to have their work seen by industry professionals and the media – student’s profiles will be raised, as will be funds for The Butterfly Foundation. As a charity that supports those affected by and with eating disorders, The Butterfly Foundation’s beliefs are well aligned with those of the SFSF who support fashion that encourages positive self-esteem.
The Chrysalis Charity Fashion Event will feature an exhibition and runway parade showcasing work from The Sydney Fashion Students Forum (SFSF). The forum is an initiative that aims to provide guidance to students making their first well-heeled steps into fashion by those already established in the industry. Students no doubt have a few less butterflies in their stomachs knowing the likes of Russh Magazine and Valerie Tolosa are among their supporters.
The event will be held at the stylish Hugos Lounge where guests will be treated to cocktails and gourmet pizzas. The Chrysalis Charity Fashion Event is the first time collaboration of students across different design schools in Sydney and a rare chance to see the future of Australian fashion together before they spread their wings and flutter in different directions.
